Nettlebed Art & Craft Exhibition

Our recent 2016 Nettlebed Art and Craft Show attracted a large number of visitors who were intent on buying as we have made the highest profit to donate to charity yet in the 6 years I have been involved. We had paintings from many new artists this time as well as some old friends. Craft space again proved so popular that we had to turn some down.

We also had a display of art from inmates at HMP Huntercombe, sales of which went directly to Sue Ryder Care. This year we invited Headway Charity to show some of their clients work in the foyer.

We sold over £6000 worth of paintings and craft. After paying our artists and covering all our expenses, we are donating our profit to ten local charities: Sue Ryder Care; FONS; Nettlebed Sports Association; Nettlebed Commons; Charles Bertioli Staying Alive Foundation; Nettlebed Village Club Roof Fund; The Bartholomew Fund; Wyfold Riding for the Disabled; Happy Days Preschool and Headway. Our tea ladies, on both days, also made a profit which is going towards the Nettlebed Senior Citizens Christmas Party - SB

Our opener was Ed Simons, former chairman of the Kenton Theatre Trustees, who entertained us with some of his stories from show business.

The favourite exhibit was won by Peter Lister’s painting “Artist’s Studio”.

Our Art and Craft Show next year will be over the weekend of 12th and 13th August 2017.
